The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Ed Sal of the Winnipeg Thrasher as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending November 9.
The 6’2″, 175-pound forward was a driving force in the Thrashers’ sweep over the Yellowhead Chiefs this past week. Ed recorded assists on two game-tying goals in a 4-3 comeback victory and followed that performance with a goal in the team’s 7-1 win the following night. From Winnipeg, this seventeen year old is currently in his second season with the U18 AAA Winnipeg Thrashers program. With 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) on the season, Ed currently sits second in team scoring. Wearing an “A” for the Thrashers, he consistently displays exceptional compete level, leadership, and work ethic, contributing in all key 5-on-5 and special teams situations. His steady presence and relentless effort have been instrumental in the Thrashers’ 14-0 start to the season.
Off the ice, Ed is a Grade 12 student at Garden City Collegiate and is a listed player with the Winnipeg Blues of the MJHL.
