Luca Pura

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Luca Pura of the Winnipeg Wild as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 19.

Luca is a 16 year old playing in his second season with the Wild and he is an assistant captain with the team. The 6’ 2” 185lb forward was a key contributor in all of the Wild’s games this past week. In three games he scored 4 times and added 5 assists and has been a consistent contributor for the Wild during the season. He currently leads the Wild and the league with 22 goals and 35 assists for a total of 57 points in 35 games with a plus/minus rating of +35. Luca is a focused player who helps lead the Wild by example both on and off the ice. His skill and compete level shows his commitment to the game and also to the team’s overall success, and he is counted on to play in all critical situations. Luca is a grade 11 student at St. Paul’s Highschool, is a drafted player of the Vancouver Giants of the WHL as well as a drafted player of the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL.
