The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Lynden Gould of the Southwest Cougars as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 8.
Lynden pushed his current point streak to 11 games this week. During that streak he has 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points, propelling him into 2nd in league scoring, 3rd in assists and 5th in goals. This week Lynden recorded 2 assists Tuesday and he recorded his first career AAA U18 hat trick Saturday, while also adding an assist, to cap off 6 points in 2 games. Lynden is an excellent mix of skill and grit. His game blends perfectly into the way the Cougars want to play. His physical presence creates time and space for himself and his line mates. He kills penalties, is trusted in crucial moments of games, and does his job as a winger getting in shooting lanes and being hard on the walls. Lynden’s offensive instincts make him dangerous all over the ice. He can score from distance or in tight, currently sitting 2nd in goals on the Cougars, but can also set his teammates up for chances as he is leading the team in assists. Lynden is a draft pick of the Virden Oil Capitals of the MJHL.
