The Manitoba u18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Tryp Klassen of the Central Plains Capitals as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 4.
The Capitals played 2 games against the Parkland Rangers in Dauphin this past week. Despite out shooting the Rangers 32-20, the Caps lost 6-3 with Tryp factoring in all 3 goals in Game 1. In the second game Tryp once again factored in all the goals for in a 4-2 win, ending the 2 game set with 2 goals and 5 assists. Tryp’s d-zone execution also played a big part in the win over the Rangers Saturday night. The grade 10 student from Glenella signed a letter of intent with the Dauphin Kings for the 2026-27 season. Tryp is one of the alternate Captains and leads by example, and not only contributes offensively but is a 200 ft player who takes pride in his defensive play as well. Tryp is looking forward to the second half of the season in making strides and contributing to the team’s goals.
