The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Urijah Moosetail of the Brandon Wheatkings as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 1.
Following an outstanding stretch between the pipes, “Moo” posted back-to-back shutouts against the Pembina Valley Hawks and Winnipeg Thrashers, stopping all 59 shots he faced. The rookie goaltender continues to impress this season, currently leading the league with 22 wins in 24 starts. He also ranks second in save percentage at .940, just behind the league leader at .947. Drafted 81st overall by the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings, Moosetail is also a Grade 11 student at Vincent Massey High School, excelling both on and off the ice.
