Week Ending February 23, 2025
Ryler Gates | Pembina Hawks is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 23. It was a busy weekend for Ryler as he earned three huge wins for the Hawks which helped his team clinch a playoff spot. Ryler went 3-0 with a 1.65 G.A.A and a .933 save percentage. Hawks coach Jeff Andrews has this to say about Ryler’s weekend performance. “On Friday Ryler stopped 19 of 20 shots in a 6-1 win over Kenora. Ryler followed that performance up by back stopping the Hawks to 3-2 OT win over the Winnipeg Thrashers. This was a huge win for us as it clinched us a playoff spot. On Sunday Ryler was very solid in a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Bruins. This was another pivotal win for us to gain more confidence heading into the playoffs as the Bruins will be our first-round match up. Ryler was awesome all weekend and it is super exciting for us to have him playing such good hockey heading into our most important part of the season”. Ryler is a 16-year-old Grade 10 student at Carman Collegiate in Carman, Mb. His MJHL rights are held by the Winkler Flyers and his WHL rights are held by the Tri City Americans.

Week Ending February 16, 2025
Mason Mykichuk | Winnipeg Thrashers is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 16. The Winnipeg Thrashers picked up 2 very important wins over the weekend and Mason was a huge contributor in both victories as he picked up 5 goals and 7 assists for 12 points versus Norman Northstars. On Saturday Mason picked up a hat trick and 4 assists in helping the Thrashers to a 10-3 victory and as well, Mason collected his 100th point in his Manitoba U18AAA career. On Sunday Mason picked up the game winner and added another along with 3 assists in a 7-3 victory that had the Thrashers trailing for half the game. Mason’s 5 points also put him past his last season totals of 53 as he now has 56 points in 31 games in league play this season. Mason, whom is one of the Thrashers alternate captains, is in Grade 11 and attends River East Collegiate. Mason is currently affiliated with the Tri Cities Americans of the Western Hockey League and Norman Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Week Ending February 9, 2025
Cade Legaarden | Parkland Rangers is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 9. The 17 year old grade 12 Grandview product collected 3G and 3 A in 3 games this past week propelling the Rangers to 2 wins and an OTL. Cade has very high hockey IQ and along with a skill set, he is an offensive threat every time he steps onto the ice. He plays in all special teams situations and has contributed offensively in every way possible.

Week Ending February 2, 2025
Reid Nicol | Brandon Wheat Kings is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 2. In 3 games this week, Reid, a 14 year old, helped his team go 3-0 by scoring 3 goals and adding 3 assists for a total of 6 points. Reid’s January was one for the books as he was able to post a 13 point month that included 9 goals and 4 assists in 9 games. His 13 point January pushed his season totals to 41 points in 38 games and has him sitting 4th in team and rookie scoring. The first year forward and WHL draft prospect is proving to be a very valuable player for the team. Despite being the league’s youngest player, Nicol plays significant minutes 5 on 5 as well as on power play. Reid, a grade 9 student at Vincent Massey high school in Brandon, is opening plenty of eyes as his draft stock continues to rise.

Week Ending January 26, 2025
Ludovic Perreault | Winnipeg Wild is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 26. Ludo is a 15 year old playing in his first season with the U18 Wild. The 5’ 7” 160lb forward is extremely skilled and talented and he continues to be a consistent contributor to the Wild’s success. During the Wild’s two wins this past week Ludo scored 3 times and added 3 more assists for a total of 6 points and he is currently second in points with the Wild and in the league with a total of 61 points in 33 games (27 goals and 34 assists). He also leads the Wild with a plus/minus rating of +39. His compete and his high skill level make Ludo a player who is relied upon on to play in all critical situations with the team. Ludo is a grade 10 student at Centre Scolaire Leo-Remillard and was drafted in the first round in the WHL by the Victoria Royals.

Luca Pura | Winnipeg Wild is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 19. Luca is a 16 year old playing in his second season with the Wild and he is an assistant captain with the team. The 6’ 2” 185lb forward was a key contributor in all of the Wild’s games this past week. In three games he scored 4 times and added 5 assists and has been a consistent contributor for the Wild during the season. He currently leads the Wild and the league with 22 goals and 35 assists for a total of 57 points in 35 games with a plus/minus rating of +35. Luca is a focused player who helps lead the Wild by example both on and off the ice. His skill and compete level shows his commitment to the game and also to the team’s overall success, and he is counted on to play in all critical situations. Luca is a grade 11 student at St. Paul’s Highschool, is a drafted player of the Vancouver Giants of the WHL as well as a drafted player of the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL.

Week Ending January 12, 2025
Ryler Gates | Pembina Valley Hawks is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 12. This past week Ryler played some great hockey and picked up two big wins for the Hawks. On Tuesday Ryler stopped 34 of 35 shots in a 3-1 win over the Central Plains Capitals. On Sunday, he was again very solid, stopping 45 of 47 shots in a 5-2 over the Eastman Selects. Ryler’s stats for the week were 2-0 with a 1.50 GAA and a 964 SV%. “Ryler was awesome in both his starts this week making hard saves look routine, his rebound control was very good, and he gave us a chance to win. Ryler has been a rock for us this year and has picked up some big wins for our team and we will need him to continue with his strong play for us to keep being successful”, said Hawks Coach Jeff Andrews. In 20 games this season Ryler has a 7-8-0-2-1 record, with a 3.66 G.A.A and a 900SV%. Ryler is a 16-year-old Grade 10 student at Carman Collegiate in Carman, Mb. His MJHL rights are held by the Winkler Flyers and his WHL rights are held by the Tri City Americans.

Calyb Moore | Eastman Selects is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 5. Calyb was instrumental in leading the Selects two victories over the Norman Northstars this week. He showcased his offensive skills by contributing 5 points and played a vital role in our strong team defensive efforts. Calyb was on the brink of making the Niverville Nighthawks MJHL this season and is eager to pursue that opportunity next year. Born in 2007, he is not only a talented athlete but also an outstanding academic student at Dakota High School. Additionally, he serves as an Assistant Captain with the Selects this season, further demonstrating his leadership and commitment to the team.

Brady Cates | Kenora Thistles is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending December 22. The 16 year old 2008 born goaltender from Emo, Ontario helped his team to 2 wins this past week posting a .942 save percentage and a 2.5 GAA in those games. Brady is always involved in the community and leads by example. His hard work and positive attitude on and off the ice always gives his team a chance to win. Brady is affiliated with the Fort Frances Lakers of the SIJHL.

Quinton Fisk | Parkland Rangers is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 15. The 16 yr old grade 11, Dauphin Kings prospect notched 4 goals and 2 assists this past week and was pivotal in helping the Rangers go 3-0 for the week. 2 of his 4 goals were short handed. Quinten continues to lead with his high level of compete and his desire to win. His offensive prowess makes him a threat in any situation. Quinten continues to work hard on and off the ice and continues to lead by example.

Lynden Gould | Southwest Cougars is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 8. Lynden pushed his current point streak to 11 games this week. During that streak he has 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points, propelling him into 2nd in league scoring, 3rd in assists and 5th in goals. This week Lynden recorded 2 assists Tuesday and he recorded his first career AAA U18 hat trick Saturday, while also adding an assist, to cap off 6 points in 2 games. Lynden is an excellent mix of skill and grit. His game blends perfectly into the way the Cougars want to play. His physical presence creates time and space for himself and his line mates. He kills penalties, is trusted in crucial moments of games, and does his job as a winger getting in shooting lanes and being hard on the walls. Lynden’s offensive instincts make him dangerous all over the ice. He can score from distance or in tight, currently sitting 2nd in goals on the Cougars, but can also set his teammates up for chances as he is leading the team in assists. Lynden is a draft pick of the Virden Oil Capitals of the MJHL.

Tyler Free | Winnipeg Bruins is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending December 1. Tyler led the Bruins offensively in both the games during the week. On Wednesday November 27, Tyler scored once and had one assist in a hard fought 5-1 win over the surging Winnipeg Thrashers. He was chosen player of the game by his team. On Sunday, Tyler again was driving his team and on this day he scored 2 goals and had 1 assists, leading his Bruin team to a 5-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings. Tyler finished the week with 3 goals and 2 assists. Tyler is a 2007 born forward in his second year with the U18 AAA Bruins. He was drafted in 2023, 5th round, 64th overall of the MJHL draft to the Virden Oil Capitals. Tyler Free has the ability to impact hockey games each and every night.

Aiden Laing | Brandon Wheat Kings is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending November 24. This past weekend Aiden was able to put up 4 points with a goal and three assists as the Wheat Kings won two games at home. Aiden, a second year Wheat Kings Defenseman and a Neepawa Titan prospect, has had a good start to the season. He is relied upon to play significant minutes for his team in all situations. “Lainger” currently sits 1st in team scoring among Defensemen with 3 goals and 11 assists.

Week Ending November 17, 2024
Danny Cross | Winnipeg Bruins is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending November 17. Danny scored 2 goals and added 2 assists in 2 games played this week. On Wednesday he scored 1 goal in a tough last minute loss to crosstown rivals Wild, and on Friday, Danny again was driving his team where he scored 1 goal and had 2 assists, leading his Bruin team to a 4-3 OT victory over the Thrashers. Danny is a 2008 born Defenseman in his second year with the U18 AAA Bruins. He was drafted in the 5th round of the MJHL draft to the Niverville Nighthawks. Danny is a leader on the U18 Bruins team and plays over 20 minutes per night every game. His work ethic and drive are key elements as he leads the Bruins through the 2024/25 season.

Week Ending November 10, 2024
Connor Hoemsen | Southwest Cougars is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending November 10. In 3 games for the Cougars this week Connor continued on his torrid pace, putting up 7 goals and adding 1 assist. He currently leads the league in goals (19) and is second in points (29). Connor has been playing excellent hockey this season and has been a key contributor to the Cougars success. His ability to read the game, get into high-percentage scoring areas, and capitalize on opportunities has made him very difficult for opposing defenses to handle. Not only does Connor contribute offensively, he kills penalties, and is relied upon in key defensive situations. The Cougars assistant captain’s leadership in the locker room is invaluable, whether it’s encouraging his teammates or setting an example of work ethic. His commitment to constant improvement and his passion for the game have helped create a culture of hard work and perseverance within the team. Connor has signed his LOI to play for the Neepawa Titans of the MJHL next season.

Ludovic Perreault | Winnipeg Wild is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending November 3. Ludo is a 15 year old playing in his first season with the U18 Wild and had also recently served as team captain of the Team Manitoba U16’s at the Western Championship Tournament. The 5’ 7” 160lb forward is an extremely skilled and talented forward who simply makes players around him better. During the Wild’s three games this past week Ludo scored 6 times and added 2 assists for a total of 8 points and he is currently second in points with the Wild with a total of 19 points in 11 games (11 goals and 8 assists) and has a plus/minus rating of +14. With his intrinsic focus, his skill level and his continuous work ethic, Ludo’s compete and commitment to the game and his team’s success is second to none.

Connor Hoemsen | Southwest Cougars is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 27. Connor, a 6’2″, 190 lb., 2007 born Virden product, continued his strong start to the season this week, extending his point streak to 6 games, netting 3 goals and adding 2 assists for 5 points over the 2 games played. Conner is currently tied for 2nd in the league in points with 18 and sits 3rd in the league in goals with 9. While the Cougars alternate captain brings a positive energy to the room everyday, he keeps things light and is a joy to be around. When it’s time to get to work, Connor takes the roll with pride and leads the Cougars every night, playing in all situations. His hard work in the offseason and throughout his time with the Cougars has paid dividends, as he has already surpassed his goal total from last year, and has proven to be a pivotal piece to the Cougars on ice success. Connor has signed his LOI to play for the Neepawa Titans of the MJHL next season.

Quinten Fisk | Parkland Rangers is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 20. In three games this week Quinten scored 4 times and added 4 assists. Two of his goals were scored short handed. Quinten is a 16 year old grade 11 student from Dauphin, whose MJHL list rights are with the Dauphin Kings. He is a hard worker on and off the ice and has been a great example for the rest of his teammates. Quinten is always positive and his work ethic has translated to great play on the ice, which has rubbed off on his teammates. He plays hard on both sides of the ice and along with his offensive threat he is an excellent penalty killer as was demonstrated with his 2 shorties this week. Quinten currently leads the league in points (18) as well as in goals (11).

Everett Winters | Central Plains Capital is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending October 13. In two games played this week, Everett backstopped the Capital to two wins. In the first game where the Caps won their first game since returning to the league, Everett stopped 40 of 44 shots in the victory over the Interlake Lightning. In the second game of the week, he stopped 32 of 35 shots, handing the Parkland Rangers their first loss of the season. Everett is a grade 12 student from Winnipeg, who was named U17 Goaltender of the Year last season. He is currently a listed prospect of the Winnipeg Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Shea Rollason | Winnipeg Bruins is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending Oct 6. ‘Rolo’ played all 3 games the Bruins had this week where he tallied 5 goals and two assists. 3 of those points (2 goals and 1 assist) came versus the top ranked team from Brandon. Shea is a 2008 born player in his second year with the U18 AAA Bruins. He was drafted 8th overall in the first round of the MJHL draft in 2024. Shea will be relied upon for his leadership this year both on and off the ice. His work ethic and drive serve as positive examples to his Bruin team mates moving forward, as he leads them into the 2024/25 season.

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce James Franklin of the Interlake Lightning is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week. In 2 games this week the ’07 from Winnipeg contributed 2 goals and 2 assists for 2 Lightning wins. James known as “Franko” is a first year player in the league. Franko is a dynamic and speedy. He gets right into the hard areas of the ice and works to get pucks to the net. He also has a great awareness of the game and hockey IQ. His work ethic and positive spirit flows through the team and his teammates thrive off of it. Franko has helped the Lightning secure a playoff spot for the 2024 playoffs.

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Cole Babych of the Winnipeg Wild as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 11.
Cole is a 16 year old playing in his first season with the U18 Wild. The 5’ 11” 165lbs forward was a key contributor in all of the Wild’s games this past week. In three games he scored 3 times and added 5 assists to help lead the Wild with wins over their opponents . Cole has been a consistent contributor for the Wild and he is currently second on the Wild in points scoring 18 goals and adding 18 assists for 36 points 33 games played with a plus/minus rating of +15. Cole is a hard working, focused player who leads by example on and off the ice. His skill level, tenacity and compete level makes him a consistent contributor to the team’s overall success, and he is counted on to play in all critical situations. Cole is a drafted player of the Selkirk Steelers in the MJHL

Week Ending February 4, 2024
The Manitoba U18 Hockey League is happy to announce Jaxon Jacobson of the Brandon Wheat Kings as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 4. As a second year player Jaxon had a week to remember, putting up 12 points in 2 games. On Friday night, it was a battle between the two top teams in the league as the Brandon Wheat Kings hosted the Southwest Cougars. In a 7-1 win over the Cougars, Jaxon was involved in all but 1 goal for Brandon, scoring once while adding 4 primary assists and 1 secondary assist for a 6-point night. On Saturday, Brandon headed into Winnipeg to take on the 4th place Thrashers. Brandon defeated the Thrashers that afternoon at Gateway Arena with a score of 7-2. Once again, Jacobson was involved in all but 1 of Brandon’s goals. This time scoring twice, while adding 4 primary assists. His offense continues to drive the Wheat Kings powerplay which currently sits at 39.8% After this weekend’s point totals for Jaxon, he currently ranks 1st in the league scoring with 28GP, 30G, 54A, 84PTS. He was selected 5th overall by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL draft this past summer. He was also the Captain of Team Manitoba at the WHL Cup, and helped the team win its first ever Gold Medal at the event.

Week Ending January 28, 2024
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Chantyn Michell-Thompson of the Norman Northstars as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 28. Chantyn hails from Opaskwayak, MB and is currently producing at over a point per game pace. The first year player has demonstrated an elite level of offense over the past two games tallying up 1 goal and 5 assists. The 15 year old carries himself with poise and respect both on and off the ice. Chantyn’s puck protection in all areas of the ice is amongst the league’s best and lately Chantyn has shown huge growth and development in becoming a two-way player. The centerman’s defensive awareness continues to grow and allows him to be relied upon during important faceoffs in all stages of the game. Recently, Chantyn was selected to represent team Manitoba at the 2024 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Grand Prairie AB. Chantyn currently sits 7th in rookie scoring throughout the league and is tied for his team lead in points. (10G, 24A = 34Pts in 32 games played.)

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce forward Reid McIntyre of the Winnipeg Wild is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 21. Reid is a 16 year old playing in his first season with the U18 Wild. The 5’ 11” 165lbs forward contributed in both of the Wild’s games this past week by notching 2 goals and adding another 3 assists. He has been a consistent contributor for the Wild and he is currently second on the Wild in points, scoring 13 goals and adding 14 assists for 27 points in 31 games played. Reid is a hard working player who leads by example on and off the ice. His speed and tenacity puts him into positions to contribute to the team’s success and he is counted on to play in all situations. Reid is a drafted player by the Selkirk Steelers in the MJHL.

Week Ending January 7, 2024
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce goaltender Justin Perrault as the CCM Hockey Player of the week for the week ending January 7. He is a 16 year old grade 11 student hailing from Winnipeg. “Juice” is a second year Bruin who has enjoyed a fantastic week for the Bruins. He started 3 of the Bruins 4 games this week and earned a 2-1 record in a very challenging schedule! Justin started the week with a 3-1 win on Wednesday night over the Pembina Valley Hawks. He stopped 40 of 41 shots in the victory! Justin’s second win came on Friday night in a 2-1 shootout win over the Winnipeg Wild where he stopped 31 of 32 shots against. Overall for the week Justin finished 2-1 with a 2.60 GAA and a .931 Save % over the three games. His hard work this season has helped him earn a commitment from the Wenatchee Wild of the Western Hockey League for next hockey season. Justin has spent some time this season as an AP for the Winnipeg Freeze who have his Manitoba Junior Hockey League rights.

Week Ending December 24, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Brady Turko of The Brandon Wheat Kings as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending December 24. In two matches this week, Brady found the net an incredible 6 times and added 1 assist for 7 points. On Wednesday night, In a battle of the two top teams in the league, Brady scored all 4 goals for Brandon, as they defeated the Southwest Cougars 4-1. Brandon then hosted the Pembina Valley Hawks on Thursday where “Turks” found the net 2 more times and added an assist in an 8-3 win. Brady is 16 years old and is currently in his grade 11 year at Vincent Massey High School. Currently Brady stands 1st in the league for Points, Goals, and is in 3rd for Assists. This is Brady’s second year with the team and is relied on heavily as one of Brandon’s top offensive forwards. He was drafted in the 5th round, 97th overall to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL.

Week Ending December 17, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey league is happy to announce Gregory Wiseman of the Norman Northstars as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 17. Gregory is currently riding a six game point streak in which he has tallied six goals and five assists. “Wisey” contributed this past weekend by putting together a six point weekend, potting three goals and three assists. In Sunday’s action, Wisey scored back to back with his second goal turning out to be the game winner. His production on ice saw the Norman Northstars collect four important points against the Yellowhead Chiefs. Wiseman currently sits third on his team in overall points with 22 pts (9G, 13A) in 20 games played. The Rankin Inlet product stands 6′, weighing 160lbs, and is currently in his grade 12 year at RD. Parker Collegiate in Thompson, MB. Also, the assistant captain of the Norman Northstars suited up and represented Team Nunavut at the Canada Winter Games, as well as the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in 2022 – 2023.

Week Ending December 10, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Ethan Stewart of the Brandon Wheat Kings is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 10. In two road games this week, Ethan scored 4 goals, which including a hat trick, and he added one assist for a 5 point week. During Tuesday’s contest vs the Yellowhead Chiefs, Ethan found the net 3 times and added an assist in a 6-1 win. Then on Saturday Ethan found the net again in a 4-0 win over the Winnipeg Wild. Ethan, a 16-year-old Grade 11 student in his second year with the team, is currently 9th in league scoring with 14 Goals and 12 Assists for 26 points. He is an Assistant Captain for the Wheat Kings and has been a huge part of his team holding on to 1st place in the league with an 19-0-1 record. Ethan is listed by the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL and was drafted 7th overall to the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL.

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Drew Russell of the Interlake Lightning as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending November 26. Drew had a stellar weekend, having solid contributions with his new linemates. In two games this week Drew had 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points. While all of his linemates found the back of the net over the weekend, Drew’s contributions stood out. The grade 11 student in his first year of U18 AAA with the Lightning, and is a prospect for the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Week Ending November 19, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Jaxon Jacobson of the Brandon Wheat Kings as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending November 19. The 14 year old, Grade 10 forward put up 11 points in a stretch of 3 games in 3 nights – Jacobson found the net five times and added 6 assists. On Friday night against the Wild, Jacobson scored twice, including the game winner in OT, and added an assist. On Saturday he followed it up with another solid night on the gamesheet by chipping in with two more goals and adding 3 assists against Eastman. Jacobson finished his weekend by adding a final goal and two assists against Interlake. His 11 point weekend moved him into second place in league scoring with 25 points after only 9 games.
Jaxon was selected 5th overall by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL draft this past summer. He was also the Captain of Team Manitoba at the WHL Cup, and helped the team win its first ever Gold Medal at the event.

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Max Collyer of the Yellowhead Chiefs as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending November 12. Max, Yellowhead’s captain, lead by example this week. He tallied 8 points in 2 games this weekend versus the Eastman Selects. He had 4 goals and completed a cycle of 1 Power-play Goal, 1 Shorthanded Goal, 1 Even Strength Goal and 1 Empty Net goal. He also added 4 assists.
Max played in his 100th U18 AAA game on Sunday, helping the Chiefs earn 2 important wins. Max is a grade 12 student at Erickson Collegiate. He is a prospect for the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL.

Week Ending November 5, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce goaltender Sam Fontaine of the Eastman Selects as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending November 5. Sam had a very impressive weekend, winning both games he started for the Selects. He stopped 75 out of 79 shots in victories over the Southwest Cougars and Pembina Valley Hawks. His save percentage of .950 was impressive. Sam hails from Steinbach, MB, and is in his first year (2007) with the Eastman U18 AAA program.

Week Ending October 23, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Ethan Stewart of the Brandon Wheat Kings as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending October 22.
Ethan, a 16-year-old Grade 11 student in his second year with the team, and is currently 5th in league scoring with 7 Goals and 12 points. He is an Assistant Captain for the Wheat Kings and has played a huge part in leading his team to 1st place, with an 8-0 record. Ethan is listed by the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL and was drafted 7th overall to the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL. Ethan is making his mark in the hockey world!
In two games this past weekend, Ethan hit the twine twice while adding 3 assists for an impressive 5 point output. His offense helped the Wheat Kings defeat the Parkland Rangers on their home ice in a 9-2 win Friday and beat the second place Winnipeg Thrashers Saturday to secure first 1st place.

The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce Cam Sarna of the Parkland Rangers as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending October 15.
In two thrilling overtime games this past weekend, forward Cam Sarna produced 3 goals. “Sarns” is a 1st year U18 AAA player from Newton, MB., currently in grade 11 at the Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School.
Cam is a feisty and gritty forward and a player trusted in all situations of the game given his competitiveness. He was drafted by the Dauphin Kings in the 2023 MJHL Draft. Cam likes rap music, is a fan of the Winnipeg Jets and Nikolaj Ehlers, while also enjoying the game of lacrosse.

Week Ending October 8, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is happy to announce Jonah Lemoine, of the Brandon AAA U18 Wheat Kings, as the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending October 8, 2023.
Jonah is a first year player with the Wheat Kings, being born in 2008. He attends Vincent Massey High School in Brandon and is currently in the 10th Grade.
After playing house league hockey as a first year U15 player, Jonah put up an impressive 80 point season (4th in league scoring) with the Brandon AAA U15 Wheat Kings in the Winnipeg AAA League as a second year player. He led his team in points as well as winning a Provincial Banner. Following that season Jonah was drafted in the 9th round (178th overall) to the Prince Albert Raiders.
This past weekend in Kenora, Jonah recorded 2 Goals and 4 Assists to lead his team to a 4-1 and 10-2 win over the Kenora Thistles.

Week Ending October 1, 2023
The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is pleased to announce that Preston Kaludjak of the Norman Northstars is the CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending October 1.
Preston played 121 minutes in two games. On Saturday night, he recorded his 1st win in the U18AAA league with a 4-1 win vs Interlake, stopping 38 of 39 shots. On Sunday, Preston back stopped 40 of 42 shots resulting in a 2-1 OT loss vs Interlake. The Northstars goaltender stopped a combined total of 78 of 81 shots and now carries a 1.49 GAA. He currently sits 2nd in the league with a .936 SV%.
Preston’s hometown is Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. He is a 16 year old player who is currently in his grade 12 year at R.D. Parker Collegiate in Thompson MB. Preston represented Team Nunavut at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship in the 2022/23 season.
